Research & Evaluation Core

APLA's Research & Evaluation Core (REC) conducts applied research that explores various HIV/AIDS-related issues such as sexual risk and health behaviors, HIV/AIDS treatment behaviors, substance use practices, quality of life, program satisfaction and evaluation capacity. REC's study findings are used to identify needs to develop new services, improve existing services and highlight trends in the field. APLA's REC also develops evaluation and quality improvement plans and assists community partners in their implementation. This support includes designing surveys, developing survey administration plans, managing databases, analyzing results and reporting findings. REC's findings have been disseminated in academic and community venues at local, statewide, national and international levels.

All REC staff have extensive research and evaluation experience. For more information, please contact Matt G. Mutchler, Ph.D. at 213.201.1522 or send an e-mail.
