Issues and Resources for People Living
with HIV/AIDS
The advent of protease inhibitors
and combination therapies has brought
about renewed health for many people
living with HIV and AIDS. People who
left their jobs and careers for permanent
disability now contemplate returning
to work, going to school, or improving
their job skills. APLA's Benefits & Work Services
Program provides counseling, direction
and advocacy for people living with
HIV who are planning for their futures.
The Program offers one-on-one career
counseling; job placement; counseling
Social Security beneficiaries on return
to work, (BPAO program) and referral
services to Vocational Rehabilitation.
