Employment Issues and Resources for People Living with HIV/AIDS

The advent of protease inhibitors and combination therapies has brought about renewed health for many people living with HIV and AIDS. People who left their jobs and careers for permanent disability now contemplate returning to work, going to school, or improving their job skills. APLA's Benefits & Work Services Program provides counseling, direction and advocacy for people living with HIV who are planning for their futures. The Program offers one-on-one career counseling; job placement; counseling Social Security beneficiaries on return to work, (BPAO program) and referral services to Vocational Rehabilitation.

The Work It! Guide featured here in its entirety provides useful information for those who have questions about pursuing a career, education or job training.
