APLA
Dental Services
AIDS Project Los Angeles opened the nation’s first dental facility dedicated to serving people with HIV/AIDS in March 1985. Our dental program – the largest of its kind in the nation – operates from two locations and through a mobile dental clinic, which reaches under-served regions across Los Angeles County.
APLA Dental Services offers comprehensive dental care, including diagnostic exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, crowns, partial or full dentures, root canals and extractions. We also work closely with the Oral Surgery Department at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, the specialty programs at both UCLA and USC Dental Schools, and many other local health organizations to avoid service duplication and to maximize community resources.
APLA treats all HIV-infected patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Approximately 40 percent of clients receive free services, while others pay on a sliding-scale fee basis or through insurance billing as appropriate.
