for SSDI, SSI and SDI

Disability
Yes, as determined by SSA (same as SSI). Long-term (anticipated to be 12 months or more) required.

Yes, as determined by your doctor generally. Long-term disability not required. Generally benefits begin after seven day waiting period.
Contribution or Pay in
Yes. FICA deduction on paycheck or with estimated withholding for 20 of last 40 calendar quarters (less if under 31 years of age)

Yes, Cal. SDI/SUI deduction on paycheck or voluntary election in first four of last five full calendar quarters
Financial Need
