SUMMER PARTY™ 2007 HITS “THE LOT” FOR AIDS PROJECT LOS ANGELES
Thelma Houston and Tiffany to Headline AIDS Fundraiser in the Heart of West Hollywood
July 6, 2007, Los Angeles, Calif. –AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) will present its 22nd Summer Party™, one of the most anticipated events of the season, on Saturday, August 4 at “The Lot” in West Hollywood. Entertainers Thelma Houston and Tiffany will headline on the outdoor concert stage presented by 104.3 KBIG, while Showtime Networks will create the Queer As Folk dance party with special cast appearances on a soundstage.
New this year is the event’s all-VIP format. Every guest will enjoy full access to a classic, red-carpet entrance with unforgettable live entertainment; complimentary dinner buffets from Global Cuisine by Gary Arabia; cool summertime drinks from Smirnoff and Don Julio; Showtime’s Studio 54-themed soundstage dance club; APLA’s upscale silent auction; and an indoor casino.
“We’re delighted to bring the party to West Hollywood,” says APLA Board of Directors member Michael Strand. “‘The Lot’ is an entertainment landmark, and we look forward to a memorable night in support of our important work for people living with HIV/AIDS.”
The Lot’s park-like setting also will host a Summer Party first: stunning aerial acrobatics from the Eye of Newt Circus, a touring theatrical circus troupe featuring former Cirque du Soleil aerialist Eric Newton and friends. Performers will also tower above the crowd on stilts.
VIP tickets, priced at $150, are available now at www.apla.org. The party runs from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.
This year's generous event sponsors include Clear Channel Los Angeles, 104.3 KBIG, Showtime Networks, Smirnoff, Don Julio, Tom Whitman Presents, United Airlines, Wells Fargo, Frontiers, Naked Juice, Coors, Ben Bridge Jewelers, Eye of Newt Circus, Arriba Gay Ski Club, LIPOZAP, A Touch of Romance and the City of West Hollywood.
