S.T.A.G.E. Presents Leading Lady Award to DIAGEO Sales Executive Leslie Barclay
Los Angeles, Calif., May 11, 2007 - The producers of the Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.) presented their first Leading Lady award to DIAGEO sales executive Leslie Barclay at a private dinner ceremony in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 8. S.T.A.G.E. is the world’s longest running AIDS fundraiser, recently raising $400,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA).
Barclay was honored for both her longstanding commitment to the S.T.A.G.E. event and to numerous AIDS charities over many years. S.T.A.G.E. director David Galligan, presenter of the award, said of Barclay: “She is such a positive force in the LGBT and HIV/AIDS community in Los Angeles, and her commitment is extraordinary. She is one of our shining stars.”
“Leslie is a tremendous supporter of our work,” said Craig E. Thompson, APLA executive director. “She is literally involved in every part of the donation process, from securing popular Smirnoff vodkas and other quality products to pouring them at the bar with a smile. In the world of corporate philanthropy, she is truly a Leading Lady.”
