NBC’s “Spy TV” host Ali Landry to Host Casino

Los Angeles, CA, July 17, 2002 -- AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) is hosting its 18th Annual Summer Party, staged at Universal Studios’ Backlot European Streets on July 27th, 2002, featuring comedy, dancing, food, a silent auction and celebrities, including former Miss USA and host of NBC’s “Spy TV” Ali Landry and comedienne Alison Arngrim.

“APLA’s Summer Party demonstrates the commitment Hollywood has made for nearly 20 years to the fight against AIDS,” said Craig E. Thompson, Executive Director of APLA. “Not only are we able to raise funds for AIDS services and awareness about the disease, it is also one of the best ways to celebrate summer in Los Angeles.”

Alison Arngrim will return again to this year’s Summer Party to host “Alison’s Comedy Drive-In,” featuring some of LA’s hottest young comedians, including Mike Moreno, Tig, Betsy Salkind, Ann Lippert, Lahna Turner, and Wendy Liebman, in three separate shows throughout the evening.

Guests will feast from foods from over 80 of LA’s top restaurants, including stalwarts L’Orangerie, Spago, and The Palm, plus newcomers Sushi Roku and Moomba. A massive dancing area will comprise three separate dance floors for party-goers to choose from, including Disco, Hip-Hop/Latin, and Country Western.

The Silent Auction, hosted by American Express, will feature items including a designer dress by Frank Agostino Couture, glasses by Oliver Peoples and Carolina Herrera, VIP Tickets to the Andy Warhol exhibit at MOCA and to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” travel packages including a European Silversea Cruise, and Virgin Atlantic and United Airline tickets.
