JAMIE LEE CURTIS, GILLIAN ANDERSON, GARCELLE BEAUVAIS AND RYAN SEACREST T0 PARTICIPATE AT 16TH ANNUAL AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES
October 10, 2000 - Los Angeles -- Longtime supporter Jamie Lee Curtis, along with Gillian Anderson of the "X-Files," Garcelle Beauvais, of the "Jamie Foxx Show" and Ryan Seacrest of STAR 98.7 will attend the 16th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles on Sunday, October 15 to ignite the estimated 27,000 participants in the the10 kilometer fundraiser. The walkathon will begin and end at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood.
"AIDS Walk Los Angeles is an important event in terms of fund raising and for raising awareness. There still is no cure for AIDS and there are more people than ever living with the disease," said Craig E. Thompson, executive director of AIDS Project Los Angeles. "In Los Angeles County, there are 16,000 people living with AIDS, more than at any other time in the history of AIDS."
Throughout the years, celebrities have used their star power to draw attention to the AIDS epidemic and encourage fundraising and participation. Curtis, along with a host of other celebrities, have lent their support to this event since its premier in 1985.

The proceeds will help AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other AIDS service organizations across Los Angeles County provide vital assistance to men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
