GERRY JAMES TO DEMONSTRATE ADVANCED POWER GOLF SWING
AT THE UNITED AIRLINES GOLF CLASSIC BENEFITING AIDS
PROJECT LOS ANGELES
OCTOBER 2 AT THE MALIBU COUNTRY CLUB
Los Angeles -- Charity golfers will see first-hand the swing that made golfer Gerry James the "Competitive Long Drive Record Holder" during a special golf exhibition at The United Airlines Golf Classic, Monday, October 2, 2000 at the Malibu Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund services that AIDS Project Los Angeles provides to more than 8,000 men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS in Los Angeles County.
The creator of the Advanced Power Golf swing, James combines consistency and distance to master a simple swing that allows for more confident golf shots. Power Golf is based on the "modern golf swing," a motion that is simple, fluid and maximizes shot distance by leveraging the coiling of the torso. Tournament players can also share the wonders of James' drives by allowing him to tee off their first shot to get them on the green.
Player spots begin at $250 and include breakfast, 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and trophy presentations. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive, hole in one and a putting contest. To register or for more information, please call (323) 993-1401.
AIDS Project Los Angeles, a non-profit community-based organization, provides direct services to more than 8,000 men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS in Los Angeles County.
