Los Angeles -- Join more than 5,000 party revelers for AIDS Project Los Angeles' 16th annual "Summer Party" on Saturday, July 29, 2000 at the Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot from 7:30 p.m. until Midnight.
Enjoy food tastings from more than 75 of Los Angeles' most popular restaurants and caterers. Dance to today's hottest dance mixes at the European-style dance club or enjoy a night of two-stepping and line-dancing at the Backlot Bunkhouse country/western dance club. Yuk it up at the Comedy Club featuring top-name comedians. Name your poison at the no-host bars. Try your luck at a hand of blackjack or a turn of the roulette wheel at the largest outdoor casino in the nation brought to you by Las Vegas' Rio Suite Hotel and Casino. Tickets to the hottest party of the summer are $65 advance general admission, $75 at the gate and $150 VIP admission which includes conveniently located parking and reception with high-end catering and hosted bar. AIDS Project Los Angeles, a non-profit community-based organization, provides direct services to more than 8,000 women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. Services include a food bank, professional dental care, housing assistance, child care, transportation, mental health counseling, case management, home health care and Adult and Child Buddy support. APLA also provides extensive treatment and prevention education and advocacy on local, state and federal AIDS-related legislation.
