LOS ANGELES’ RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROGRAM
TO HOST MONTHLY HOUSING FORUMS
LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT HOUSING PROGRAMS TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED
Los Angeles -- AIDS Project Los Angeles’ Residential Services program is offering monthly Housing Forums which are free and open to the public. The first forum will take place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at AIDS Project Los Angeles. Call Gloria at (323) 993-1516 to RSVP. Subsequent Housing Forums will held on a monthly basis on the second Wednesday of each month.
Topics to be covered are available housing options in LA County, description of HOPWA funded housing programs, how to access these programs, eligibility criteria, fair housing issues, legal housing issues, back to work issues and consumer credit counseling.
APLA’s Residential Services’ goal is to assist individuals with HIV/AIDS living or moving to Los Angeles county, with obtaining and maintaining safe, affordable, stable and permanent housing.
AIDS Project Los Angeles, a non-profit community-based organization, provides direct services to more than 8,000 women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. Services include a food bank, professional dental care, housing assistance, child care, transportation, mental health counseling, case management, home health care and Adult and Child Buddy support. APLA also provides extensive treatment and prevention education and advocacy on local, state and federal AIDS-related legislation.
