THE NATIONAL AIDS MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM
INFORMATION MEETING
GO THE DISTANCE AND HELP AIDS PROJECT LOS ANGELES MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS
Los Angeles -- If you’ve ever thought about running a marathon, here’s your opportunity. Attend the first Information Meeting for the National AIDS Marathon Training Program from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2000 at the West Hollywood Auditorium located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. directly across from the Pacific Design Center. Proceeds from the National AIDS Marathon Training Program will help fund services that AIDS Project Los Angeles provides to men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
The program will include speaker Jeff Galloway, world renowned runner and marathon trainer, who developed the National AIDS Marathon Training Program’s six-month physical conditioning program. The Training Program combines running with walk breaks to prepare participants to complete the October 2000 Chicago Marathon. Mr. Galloway will discuss the training program which has helped thousands of people complete their first marathon.
Also included in the meeting’s agenda is a video presentation, effective fund raising ideas and training site locations where running coaches will work with runners to ensure each participant’s success at achieving their goal of completing the October 2000 Chicago Marathon.

AIDS Project Los Angeles, a non-profit community-based organization, provides direct services to more than 8,000 women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. Services include a food bank, professional dental care, housing assistance, child care, transportation, mental healthcounseling, case management, home health care and Adult and Child Buddy support. APLA also provides extensive treatment and prevention education and advocacy on local, state and federal AIDS-related legislation.
