"Go Farther Than You Ever Thought You Could"

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 12, 2000 - Registration has begun for the National AIDS Marathon Training Program benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles. This year’s participants will begin training on April 29 in preparation for the Chicago Marathon in October 2000. The training program is designed for ordinary people willing to make an extraordinary commitment that will forever change their lives and improve the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS.

The six-month training program, developed by world-renowned runner and marathon trainer Jeff Galloway, is geared to both beginners and experienced runners. The training program combines running and walking to prepare participants to complete the Marathon.

In 1999, more than 700 people completed the training program, raising more than $2.5 million for the fight against AIDS.

Participants will receive round-trip air travel and hotel accommodations, as well as a complete training program including running coach, training materials, and organized group runs.

The deadline to register is April 21, 2000. Information is available by calling the National AIDS Marathon Training Program office at (323) 993-1400, or by visiting their website at www.aidsmarathon.com.
