Whether you’re a member of the LBGT community or just a sucker for parades and glitter, we’ve got you covered this year.
THE MAIN EVENT
L.A. Pride 2011
What: Live it up at this two-day celebration featuring gourmet food trucks; boozy libations; performances by Estelle, Margaret Cho, and Upright Caberet; and loads more in West Hollywood Park.
Why: Fight your way to the front of the parade for the best view of elaborate floats and Grand Marshal Johnny Weir.
When: Festival, Sat., noon-midnight; Sun., 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Parade, Sun., 11 a.m.
Where: West Hollywood Park, San Vicente Blvd., b/t Santa Monica Blvd. & Melrose Ave., West Holllywood (323-969-8302). Parade starts at Santa Monica & Crescent Heights Blvds. Tickets ($20-$35) online here.
UP ON A ROOF
Pride at Palihouse
What: Catch the festivities somewhere with a bit more elbow room at this rooftop BBQ with DJs. A portion of the proceeds goes to AIDS Project Los Angeles.
Why: Two of the coveted 150 tickets are reserved for the first readers to email pride@palihouse.com with DailyCandy in the subject line.
When: Sun., 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
